Corno Stella multipitch Climbing - Maritime Alps

Corno Stella multipitch Climbing - Maritime Alps

Come to explore one of the most iconic walls of Maritime Alps: Corno Stella SW face. Iconic and wild mountain, located in Gesso valley (CN)

Informazioni aggiuntive

The peak of Corno Stella, with its 3050 m, represents the symbol of climbing development in the Cuneo area, on which numerous climbing routes have been tracked since the early 1900s. Here you will be free to retrace historical and modern itineraries on very high quality granite rock, in a breathtaking environment with a still wild flavour.

Here you can still enjoy the mountaineering of the past, far from human infrastructures and spend the evenings between one climb and another in the authentic Rif. Bozano, talking about adventures with other mountaineers as was done before modern social media. Here time seems to have stopped, a rare beauty to find.

Schedule

Total duration: 3 days of climbing with 2 nights spent in the welcoming Bozano refuge.

Day 1 - transfer to Terme di Valdieri (CN) and to the "Gias delle Mosche" car park, about 3 h 30' from Varese by car. Climb to the Bozano refuge where we will leave the sleeping materials and take a break. To also take advantage of the first day, it is possible to climb a short route on the "Catena delle Guide", with the aim of becoming familiar with the rock and the maneuvers for managing the roped party, returning in time for dinner in the refuge.

Day 2 - multipitch route to Corno Stella

Day 3 - multipitch route to Corno Stella or possibly a route to Placche dei Camosci in the lower valley. Return to Varese in the evening.
