A beautiful short ferrata in the municipality of Mesenzana, along the Trekking Tre Penne Nere that passes through woods and trenches above Mesenzana, is the ‘Sottotenente Bellotti Agostino’ ferrata. The ferrata was desired by the municipal administration, which invests in hiking to enhance the village's natural heritage and local history. It is financed by the municipality and its mayor, who is very attentive to the enhancement of the mountain area, with its trails of historical interest.
You can walk this ferrata, in both directions, from right to left and vice versa. The ferrata is arched, with the two departures (or arrivals) on overhanging rock; there are some stirrups to aid progression. It starts with an overhanging section, which is quite demanding and then there are downhill sections where you have to unclimb; in short, there is a bit of everything concentrated in a small space.
