The Sentiero Roma is a fascinating hike in the heart of the Central Alps. This itinerary runs for four days surrounded by majestic granite peaks, always remaining above 2400 metres in altitude.
Along the way, you visit the beautiful Ponti, Allievi, Gianetti and Omio refuges and follow the route of the Kima Trophy (which the athletes cover in about 7 hours).
During the hike, you walk at the foot of imposing mountains such as Monte Disgrazia, Pizzi Torrone and Pizzi del Ferro, Pizzo Cengalo and Pizzo Badile. The walls of these mountains have been the scene of historic mountaineering exploits.
Preparation: As this is a demanding route, good physical preparation is essential.
Equipment: It is essential to bring technical clothing, hiking boots, helmet, harness and crampons if required.

Schedule
Meeting point: Val Masino in the late morning/early afternoon (it is possible to agree to go up the valley together to optimise cars)
Day 1 - departure from Preda Rossa and ascent to Rif. Ponti. (Height difference: 550 m).
Day 2 - ascent to Bocchetta Roma, crossing the Pioda valley and ascent to the Cameraccio pass, crossing the Torrone valley and ascent to the pass, descent to Rif.Allievi. (Height difference: 650 m).
Day 3 - Ascent to the Averta Pass, traverse the Qualido valley to the Qualido pass, traverse the Ferro valley and ascent to the Camerozzo pass, descent to the Rif. Gianetti. (Height difference: 850 m).
Day 4 - traverse Val Porcellizzo and ascent to Passo del Barbacan, descent to Rif. Omio and subsequent descent to the valley for the return trip. (Height difference: 100 m).

The fee includes: organization of the alpine ascent, accompaniment and teaching by the Mountain Guide, third party insurance and use of common material.
Notes
The fee does not include: travel costs, food and accommodation, cable cars (also for the Guide) extras and everything that is not included in the "fee" item. The expenses of the Guide will be divided among the participants.
The proposals reported are indicative of a general program. They may undergo variations at the sole discretion of the Alpine Guide depending on weather and snow conditions or other variables.
