Segantini ridge on the southern Grigna

Segantini ridge on the southern Grigna

Follow ProUp guides on the Segantini Ridge (Grigna meridionale): an iconic rocky ridge in Lombard prealps. Here you can improve your mountaineering abilities

Informazioni aggiuntive

The Segantini ridge is one of the most beautiful and easy mountaineering routes to reach the summit of Grigna Meridionale at 2184 m, located above the Lecco shore of Lake Como. The itinerary is classified as AD difficulty and with a handful of grade IV climbing sections spread over approximately 500 m of length it is accessible to many mountain enthusiasts, requiring minimal technical climbing skills.

The ascent is however long, around 7-8 hours between ascent and descent, and requires good aerobic capacity, as well as the habit of walking on rocky terrain and mountain paths.

Schedule

Travel or meeting at Piani Resinelli (1350 m altitude) early in the morning. We will climb towards Rif. Porta and then follow the Direttissima path, passing at a certain point the characteristic Fungo tower. Some channels will lead us to the start of the ridge, a short break and we will then ride the many spiers which, with some climbing passages and a few rappels, will lead us to the top of the Southern Grigna. Approximately 800 m of positive altitude difference. The descent will then take place along the normal route (Cermenati ridge) then returning to the car.
