In addition to the trip in a single day, we offer the opportunity to take it more calmly and enjoy not only 3 days of skiing but also dinners and evenings in the magical context of Sicily! A journey within a journey for all those who expect a ski trip that is unique in the world and then refresh themselves with local dishes and wines, what better could you ask for?
No particular mountaineering skills are required but only a good level of aerobic training and good off-piste skiing skills (manage trips of BS difficulty and differences in altitude of approximately 1500 m). If the ski lifts are open we will also be able to get tickets and reduce the difference in altitude to less than 1000 m.
The volcano offers different ascent and descent lines, every day we will try a different itinerary and discover different corners of this strange mountain!
Schedule
Day 1: arrival in Catania and immediately a warm-up ski tour (compatibly with the flight time) and subsequent transfer to the accommodation.
Day 2: depending on the snow/weather conditions and the state of activity of the volcano we will try to climb as high as possible and with a little luck we will reach the summit!
Day 3: more ski mountaineering for an itinerary different from the previous ones. Subsequent transfer to the airport and return to the plane.
Fee
2 people: 850 euro per person
3-5 people: 650 euro per person
In case of a number of people more than 4, it will be necessary a 2nd Mountain Guide.
The fee includes: B&B for 2 nights, transfers for all travel on the trip, organisation and assistance in the preparation of the trip, accompaniment and teaching by a Mountain Guide.
Notes
The fee does not include: flight from/to Milan Malpensa-Catania, lunches and dinners, fuel to be divided among the participants, any equipment hire on site (skis, skins, boots and poles) extras and everything not included in the ‘fee’ item. For info, the rent of skis+skins+poles+rampant is 35 euro/day per person, made by the shop "Etna ski service" in Nicolosi (CT).
The proposal is indicative of an outline program. That program may be subject to change depending on: weather conditions, snow conditions, number of participants or other variables.
